AI Assistance helps members find published church information and helps staff prepare work for human review. It does not act as a pastor, send messages, publish content, merge members, or assign volunteers on its own.

Ask Your Church In The Member App

After a church activates the paid Digital Ministry Assistant add-on, a billing administrator can enable member access from Settings > Billing & Subscription > Add-ons. Members can then open Connect and select Ask your church to ask about service times, campuses, parking, Events, kids ministry, Community Groups, sermons, bulletins, and devotionals. The answer is built from published information for the signed-in member’s church. Source chips under an answer show the church content used. When a question cannot be verified from those sources, the assistant says so instead of guessing. An answer may offer a shortcut to Events, Sermons, Groups, Prayer, or Pastoral Care. These shortcuts open the existing member experience; the assistant does not register, submit, book, message, or change anything.

Pastoral And Urgent Needs

The assistant is not a counselor, clinician, emergency service, or spiritual authority. Questions that need personal pastoral judgment are redirected to a person through Prayer or Pastoral Care. Someone in immediate danger should use local emergency help rather than wait for an AI reply. Member questions and answers are not kept as a server-side chat history. A member can still see the current answer on the open screen until they leave it. Member replies use the church’s shared monthly allowance. Each member can ask up to five questions per day so one person cannot use the whole church allowance. The free AI reply trial remains for staff evaluation and is not available through the member app.

Use AI Chat As A Staff Copilot

Open Church Management, then AI Chat. Staff can use a suggested prompt or ask in natural language to:
  • Draft visitor follow-up or Volunteer encouragement messages.
  • Summarize care history that the signed-in leader is already allowed to see.
  • Suggest next-step pathways or Community Groups from current church records.
  • Find members, Events, resources, visitors, Groups, duplicate candidates, or Volunteer schedule gaps.
  • Draft Event descriptions, announcement copy, weekly engagement summaries, and ministry reports.
AI Chat keeps the permissions of each source workspace. Access to AI Chat does not grant access to Members, Pastoral Care, Visitors, Groups, or Volunteer data that the staff member could not otherwise open. All generated messages and operational suggestions are drafts. Review them before use. Sending, publishing, scheduling, merging, and assigning remain deliberate actions in their normal product screens.

Review Sermon Assistance

Sermon AI works from a reviewed transcript. It can prepare summaries, discussion questions, small-group guides, social captions, newsletter summaries, short devotionals, key quotes, scripture lists, and clip suggestions. While reviewing a transcript, select Suggest cleanup to see conservative wording suggestions and uncertain passages. Applying a suggestion only updates the open editor. A staff member must still review and save the transcript; the assistant never overwrites it automatically. Generated sermon content should remain faithful to the reviewed transcript. Review every quotation, scripture reference, and factual claim before sharing or publishing it.

Availability

AI Assistance uses the existing Digital Ministry Assistant add-on and its included usage allowance. Ask your church appears in the member app only while the paid add-on is usable and a billing administrator has enabled member access. A billing, church-allowance, or daily fair-use message appears when another reply is unavailable. Existing published sermon content remains available to members even when AI generation is unavailable. Members with an active or lapsed sponsorship can ask the assistant to translate, lightly polish, or do both for a sponsor letter. The assistant sees only the draft and language request—not the beneficiary’s private identity, guardian details, or safeguarding record. It returns an unsaved draft. The member reviews and edits it, then submits it separately through the ordinary encrypted moderation workflow.
