Search and the Attention Bell

Two controls in the dashboard header work on every page: a search box that jumps you to a person or a screen, and a bell that lists the things waiting for someone to act.

Before You Start

  • Sign in to your admin account. Both controls appear once you are inside Church Management.
  • Search only returns people and cases from your own church.
  • The bell shows items you are allowed to work on. If you do not see care cases, your account does not have the pastoral care permission.

Search From Anywhere

  1. Click the search box in the header, or press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) from any page.
  2. Start typing a name, email address, or phone number. Results appear as you type.
  3. Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the results and press Enter to open one, or click it. Press Esc to close.
Results are grouped:

The Attention Bell

The bell sits beside your profile menu. A dot on it means at least one item needs a person. Click the bell to see the list: Each line shows a count and opens the screen where that item is handled. When there is nothing outstanding the bell says so. The list refreshes on its own every two minutes, so you do not need to reload the page.

Tips

  • The same “needs attention” list appears on the dashboard home page, so you can start the day from either place. See Dashboard and Internal Tools.
  • A care case shows in the bell as both “without an owner” and “urgent” if it is both. Assigning it removes it from the first line only.
  • Type a phone number the way it was saved on the record. Partial numbers work.
