YouTube Live becomes an on-demand sermon

Churches that stream with YouTube Live can now turn a finished service into an on-demand sermon without copying a recording URL back into TheFaithApp. In Streaming, save the YouTube Live video ID, choose the sermon category under Automatic on-demand archive, and click Enable YouTube archive. TheFaithApp checks the broadcast after it ends and creates the sermon only when YouTube says the recording is processed and playable.

The recording keeps its useful details

The new sermon uses the YouTube title, description, duration, and best available thumbnail. The livestream is marked inactive and linked to that sermon. Repeat checks do not create duplicate sermons.

No new church credentials

The connection reuses TheFaithApp’s existing YouTube API integration. Churches do not enter a YouTube password or copy a webhook secret. Other streaming providers can continue using the signed recording-ready webhook. If YouTube is still processing the recording, TheFaithApp waits and checks again. A rejected recording is shown as a failed archive event instead of creating a broken sermon. Read Content Management for setup steps and the available live sources.
