# QuickBooks and Xero connect to balanced giving journals

Church finance teams can now prepare QuickBooks- and Xero-ready journal files
inside **Giving > Finance Operations**. Each church controls its own
contribution, processing-fee, refund, settlement, and fund mappings.
Reconciled deposits can route their settlement line to the deposit's own
account instead of the profile default.

## Preview before download

Every export starts with a preview. Finance staff can check the settled-gift
record count, journal row count, balanced debit and credit totals, warnings,
and sample rows before creating a file. Missing mappings and inconsistent fund
allocations stop the export with a clear correction message.

Completed files stay in the church's export history for repeat download.
Failed validation attempts remain visible without creating a file.

## A safer accounting handoff

Accounting exports include settled gifts only and omit donor names and email
addresses. Generated files are encrypted at rest and remain inside the
church's Giving export permission boundary.

QuickBooks files use journal-entry account names and import columns. Xero files
use account codes and manual-journal columns. Finance teams should still review
the provider's import preview before posting the journal.

## Connect and send to QuickBooks or Xero

Authorized finance users can now connect a church-owned QuickBooks company or
Xero organization from the same Giving workspace. A connected profile uses the
live chart of accounts, and a completed preview can send one balanced journal
per settled gift. Delivery history shows whether a run was sent or needs a
corrected mapping and another attempt.

Xero's Demo Company supports safe setup and test delivery. The connected card
shows the organization's base currency, and account selection prevents a
manual journal from using a bank account. Finance teams can use a non-bank
clearing account for settlement lines instead.

Retries reuse the same request identity and do not post a completed run twice.
Access tokens remain encrypted and rotate automatically. Disconnecting revokes
provider authorization without deleting earlier exports or accounting
records.

When an approved refund, dispute, or correction changes a gift after delivery,
TheFaithApp sends a dated reversal of the earlier journal and a corrected
replacement. If that two-part correction is interrupted, retrying resumes it
without duplicating the reversal.

CSV exports for either provider still require no connected account.
